Combat to Canvas: CTCRM Lympstone

We recently hit the Gordon Messenger Centre (CTCRM Lympstone) home to the Royal Marine Commandos to get some serving personnel away from the noise and onto the canvas. It wasn't about being "talented"—it was about the process.

Art is just a different kind of discipline. It’s about lowering the cortisol, building resilience, and having the kind of honest dits that only happen when you’re in a safe, no-ego space.

The Mission: Proving art is a connection, not just an expression.

The Vibe: High-level instruction mixed with standard military banter.

The Result: Building a support network that actually sticks.

Whether you’re a natural or you’re just here because you heard we "don't eat the crayons," the goal is the same: winning the fight for better mental health.

Gats n Tats: From the Armory to the Studio

We know that picking up a paintbrush isn't for everyone. That’s why we created Gats n Tats—a workshop that connects the deep-rooted history of military ink with a new kind of creative outlet.Held at the Gordon Messenger Centre (CTCRM Lympstone), this session is about more than just skin deep. It’s about learning a high-level craft in a safe, ego-free environment where the banter is as sharp as the needles.

The Heritage: Tattoos have been part of the service since the 18th century—we’re just continuing the tradition.

The Skill: From stencils to synthetic skins, it’s about focus, steady hands, and technical discipline.

The Goal: A mental health "circuit breaker" that gives you a new skill and a solid community.

We don’t care if you’re a natural artist or just looking for a way to switch off for a few hours—the door is open. Just remember: we don't let the kids near the equipment,

Bring a workshop to your Unit, Ship, Station or business.
